Udara as been known in Igbo land is a tree which its English name is Star Apple, the Yoruba calls it Agbalumo. it is a delicious fruit. Udara which simply means " if it falls you lick". It is believe to be the female god of fruitfulness and protection. In Igbo land, it is believe to be the mother of Akwari omumu, in other words, udara birth Akwari omumu. Udara tree is a place of residence for all the ancestors and unborn children, so it is a believe to be a powerful tree. In the Igbo community, it is an abomination to pull off udara fruit from its tree. you let it fall on its own. Udara tree drive off premature death, and the evil spirit of barrenness from any compound or community it grows. Udara is not planted by anybody, it grows on its own, This is the reason its an abomination to cut down the tree without running the necessary consultation and appeasing the god of fertility and life. Nobody dares defecate under an udara tree. People hardly go to udara tree in the night because it is believed to be a home of spirits. Udara tree has life span of more than 1000 years, and it's leaves are used to cure malaria and fever. QUESTION: WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT UDARA?
